Environmental Engineer / Geologist –  ECO & ASSOCIATES, INC.

 
Eco & Associates, Inc. has an opening in our Orange, CA office for Professional Geologist/Professional Engineer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of various challenging field and office assignments that require the candidate to work effectively within a team and also independently. This candidate must be able to develop and maintain clients as well as professionally communicate project status and field activities to upper Level Management and Clients. This candidate must be able to maintain project budgets, prepare and review technical documents, and maintain good communication between coworkers. Must adopt and promote a strong safety culture between all employees. Management will include supervision of environmental assessments and investigations, remedial design and implementation, field mapping, overseeing completion of field staff activities and associated paperwork, documenting daily field activities, and oversight of project subcontractors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Geology, Master of Science is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain an active Professional Geologist License with the State of California.
  • Must have 5 years minimum of professional experience in the environmental engineering industry (skills including, but not limited to, construction, hazardous waste remediation, certification/licensing, field proficiency, health and safety protocols, environmental management, and oversight of remediation system operations).
  • Other significant qualifications should include experience with client relations, project management, and report writing.
  • Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication proficiencies, possess strong ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, clients, potential clients, regulatory personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Additional computer skills must have are as follows: experience with GIS Arc View, AutoCAD (or equivalent), Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Support principal on project-related work.
  • Provide project management services (including schedules, budget, client services, and personnel management).
  • Report writing and document review.
  • Direct staff in research and analysis tasks.
  • Direct staff in data collection and evaluation.
  • Direct staff in soil, soil gas, groundwater, and air sampling and analysis.
  • Direct staff in performance and coordination of field activities.
  • Support business development, proposal preparation, and general administrative operations.
